Tribute Poem from Seth Belsey - Ace’s Brother in Law
Ace Rizzle Rock
What Up Y’all!
Ace is in the place.
We feel him …… and wish we could squeeze him one more time
He’s with us in Word…..and he always had the perfect thing to say
It’s been heartening to hear all the perfect words said for him today
I’ve wondered so many things since he left..
Is this a plan
Was this his plan
Divine man with a divine plan
Or Clandestine Destiny
Do you know the god Woden’s son died by being pierced with Mistletoe
Ace found a sweetness in longing and yearning, and said peace with a kiss
When I was in Rolf school, I was asked once what I thought was up with Ace. I said, I believe his skin is on too tight. But that was a symptom not a cause. Now I know that his Soul was simply too big for his body.
There was a hunger for Love and Rhythmic Beauty in the depths of his Spirit.
And is there anything more satisfying than:
Soul Nourishment
It’s Soul Significant
Soul Unusual
Soul Mysterious
Soul Incredible
The Soul celebrates, for what is not born, never dies
I love that photo of young Ace in cowboy boots on his tricycle
Big Boy
Big Wheels
Superman Cape
Big Feels
I picture Ace following his own line drawn direction into existence
Yes, over time the edges yellowed and crinkles did appear
But the eraser still remarked, there’s nothing to undo here.
We’ve been looking through his portfolio, and he kept some drawings from when he was a kid.
I like the thought that he knew that he had created a treasure from his chest.
Ace the Artist created from passion and pressure. Late nights and sacrifice.
He often did it the Hard Way, but he never wanted us to feel or take it the hard way.
Raspy Rascal
Ritalin me this
Sight for Monte Sore Eyes
Bouncing muse, Cherished and Bruised
Biochemically focused, mental hocus pocus
Future Self took a Toke
3rd eye winked at the joke
Now I want to know, does an Angel have to step out for a smoke?!
Ace of all suits played the hand he was dealt
He was a Real One
Touch of Class in saggy pants
Misty flipping misanthrope
Shell toed minstrel
Alliterative Allegorical Alex
Ever seen, Ever dream, Ever lean, Ever team, Never mean with Clever esteem,
that’s our Mr. Evergreen
We offer you our tears to purify the wounds, and more tears towards life’s secrets and hidden things. Our tears unite us in this moment and float our broken hearts to you in Heaven.
We offer you our smiles and Thank you for all the True caring Love moments
Smiles for every self portrait hung upside down
Smiles for a Lion with a crown.
Smiles knowing we will be together again.
Smiles for Family, Friendship and Oneness, Amen.
